Some time around the start of the school year, Catra Weaver decided to hate you. It could have been anything, really: something you said in passing, something you did without realizing, maybe even thought – she looks like she could read minds, you know? Whatever it was, it was enough for her to take action against you and it’s fine, really, except for when she whispers something in other girls’ ears while holding your gaze or when a teacher is quizzing you and she answers right before you do, under her breath, or that time you held a door open for her and she didn’t even say thank you.

Basically: living in a metropolis as a teenager, child of the diaspora, navigating highschool, crushing on a white girl that should deconstruct some stuff, not accepting the fact you're crushing on her because that's gay! over the course of a couple years. Yup. Good times.

Summary
High-School Friends Catra and Adora both work in a boutique sex shop owned by Glimmer. However, Catra is an insecure trans woman who's never even been on a date with someone else. And her boss just happens to be the most casually flirtatious person she's ever met. And as it turns out, she doesn't just flirt with Catra for fun. Frequently, their interactions follow the pattern of 'Glimmer flirts with Catra, Catra stammers as her brain goes to many inappropriate places.' However, everything changes one day when Glimmer makes her interest as blatant as possible, and Adora can't help but intervene and help her friend get a date.

“You seem hungry,” Adora said matter of factly. She raised a hand and clicked loudly, making eye contact with the waitress. “Can I get another plate of the same?” Then looked back to the hungry woman, who’s eyes were now widening in… surprise? Offence? “Coffee?” Adora asked. Receiving no response, she continued to the waitress, “And another large coffee? Creamer in this one.”
Finally, the woman spoke. “Did you just assume my coffee order?”
“Well,” Adora shrugged. “Cats like cream, don’t they?"
Adora's a long distance trucker, Catra's the runaway she gives a ride to. Just wanted to write something where Catra and Adora have to spend four days in what is essentially a tiny room together. And there's one bed, shocker.
