Summary
The world ended when Tim was asleep. No one else seemed to notice.
He woke to a grey apocalypse, saw the world shrouded in an eyelid haze, and went back to sleep.
When he woke again, the haze remained. So he got up, put on his clothes, and went to work. He sat through every meeting and remembered none of it. He ate lunch and tasted nothing. He walked home. It was January and he’d forgotten his coat, but if his body shook from the cold, he didn’t notice.
On patrol, he broke three knuckles and didn’t make a sound.
Or, Tim is depressed. Someone finally notices.

Summary
Jaiden returned to the world in a haze of static. Her body felt distant, a strange sensation. A voice fluttered around her, familiar but unknown in its fear.
“She’s okay, she’s okay.” The words tumbled over each other, interlaced with Spanish, the two languages spilling out in a familiar mix. “Tu mamá está bien.”
For all the positivity laced into his words, Jaiden could hear the panic beneath. Roier wore his heart on his sleeve; she loved him for it, but now more than anything, she wanted to comfort him. Why was he so upset?
Jaiden could feel something soft under her head, a harsh contrast to the hardwood beneath her aching bones. She registered movement nearby, her boys fluttering in and out of her periphery. Had something happened?
“Bobby.” It came out raspy and unfamiliar even to her. She fought against the weight that threatened to drag her from consciousness.
“Jaiden.” Relief was a crashing wave in Roier’s voice. “You’re awake.”
Or, Jaiden "crashes" for the first time in front of Roier and Bobby. It scares them, but they'll face it as a family.

Summary
It was after midnight when Wilbur caught sight of Red. The vigilante was tripping over his own feet in an alleyway, one hand braced flat against the brick wall in a futile attempt to steady himself. For a moment, Wilbur just observed him. It was funny, really. All these months of cat-and-mouse, and Wilbur just happened to stumble upon him here.
With his hands spread in pleasure, the perfect picture of a villain, Wilbur stepped into the alley. “Fancy meeting you here.”
To his satisfaction, Red startled hard enough to send himself flailing backwards. He ended up on his ass on the concrete, peering up at the villain through his lopsided cowl.
Wilbur snickered. He was still advancing, slowly, enjoying the uncertainty he could see in Red’s posture, how it bordered on fear. The vigilante was still on the ground, his hands braced behind him, mouth open as he stared up at Wilbur.
“You…” Red’s head wobbled as he tilted it. He still hadn’t gotten up. “I… know you?”
Wilbur stopped in his tracks.
Or, Tommy can't remember that he's supposed to hate Wilbur. The Wilbur is too stunned to speak.

Summary
The bell on the door rang as it was pushed open. It was too early for Technoblade’s next appointment, so— without even glancing up— he said, “No walk-ins.”
The footsteps didn’t stop until they reached the counter. Someone cleared their throat. Technoblade raised his eyes to find a teenager glaring at him over the counter.
“No walk-ins,” Technoblade repeated, bored.
“I’m not here for a tattoo.”
“Well, we don’t do anything else,” Technoblade said dryly. This was the most entertainment he’d gotten all day, save for the long appointment he’d had that morning with Dream, one of his most consistent customers.
“You need help,” the kid said with conviction.
Technoblade arched his brow. “I wasn’t aware of that.”
“Well, you do.”
Technoblade examined him critically. The kid was tall but clearly young— the kind of customer Technoblade would double-check the ID of. “Are you even old enough to be in here?”
The kid ignored the question. “You need help around here. And I need an apprenticeship.”
Or, Technoblade is a tattoo artist and Tommy seeks an apprenticeship. The ink of their lives bleed together in unexpected ways.

Summary
“I’ll get you your medicine,” Dream said, rubbing a soothing hand over his hair. “I think you’d better stay in bed for the next few days, huh?”
Tommy scrunched up his face, displeased, but he couldn’t deny how awful he felt. His bouts of illness always snuck up on him; one day, he’d be up and about, feeling on top of the world. The next, he’d be back in bed, a fever or some other malady keeping him down.
“Sorry,” he mumbled.
Dream let out a breath through his nose. “It’s not your fault,” he said, and Tommy’s heart clenched at Dream’s kindness. He was beyond patient, even with all of Tommy’s faults. “I’ll always take care of you.”
Or, Tommy's a sick kid. That's just the way it's always been. But an encounter with three witches leaves Tommy questioning his own illness, as well as the medicine Dream's been giving him for as long as he can remember.
