Summary
It’s a sleepless night when Bucky hears a loud bang in the apartment above him. He tells himself he is going upstairs to make sure no one is breaking in, not that he is worried for his neighbor. He pushes away the thought of hoping someone would break in, just so he can get into a fight to tire him out.
Reaching his neighbors door, Bucky knocks softly. He doesn’t want to disturb anyone. He listens intently, trying to filter out any noise not coming from the apartment. He knocks again, louder this time, wondering if he made the sound up. He hears another loud thud, followed by a groan that sounded a lot like someone was in pain. Without a second thought, Bucky steps back and kicks the door open. He stumbles into his neighbor's apartment and is almost shocked by what he finds.

Bucky Barnes finds a Very Injured Peter Parker. Surprise!!! Peter, you have a dad now!!! Let's just hope the whole "erasing peter parker from everyone's memory" stunt doesn't stir up too many bad memories for the super soldier...

Finally, the tears gathering in her eyes start to fall. “I’m pregnant. 8 weeks. Hitting me is one thing but I can’t take the chance that he’ll take his anger out on our kid. I can’t, Evan. I have to protect them, and that means he can’t be around them. I have- I have to-” By the end, her words are unintelligible through the sobs racking her frame.
He doesn’t hesitate, leaning over and wrapping her into his arms, letting her cry and shake against his chest as the entire world changes around them.

Buck blinked. “What, like living together forever?”
A snort filled the air, and Eddie looked half amused and half serious. “I dunno, maybe? Something like that. I mean, look, it’s a new year, right? Anything could happen. But neither of us wanna be alone forever. So, maybe if we’re both still single in a year or whatever, we could just—” he waved a hand vaguely, like he was lassoing the future— ”make it official.”
“Official?” he echoed, head even fuzzier now.
Eddie’s mouth twitched. “Yeah, we could just get married, or something close enough to it."
Buck’s heart tripped over itself.
On New Year's Eve, Buck and Eddie made a drunken pact: if they were both still single in a year, they'd marry each other. They didn't mean to start sabotaging the other's love life to make it happen, but somewhere along the way, that's exactly what they ended up doing.
Now the only question is... how far are they willing to take it?

“The whole,” he gestures vaguely, “pride thing.”
Chim levels him with a look. “Not really? Maybe on the day of the parade I might get a bit envious that they’re all having fun without me, but that’s just your regular old FOMO. Do you?”
Eddie shrugs.
“Just FOMO, too, I guess,” he lies. It’s easier than trying to explain the whole ‘drowning on the inside of his body’ thing he feels whenever someone so much as mentions it.
Chimney narrows his eyes at him, but the others are starting to wrap up the scene, so Eddie takes the chance to escape before he gets asked something he can't answer.
