Chat Noir looked at his feet. “Thanks.”“I know you came back for Kagami’s sake, but…I’m glad you’re back,” she murmured.
And what could he possibly say to that? He wasn’t glad to be back. Paris was beautiful as ever, and he’d missed Marinette like hell. But walking these familiar streets, hearing her voice again, made him feel like an open, pulsing wound being bathed in salt.
“No one deserves to be held captive like this. And Plagg missed the other kwamis.” Adrien owed Plagg a lot. After all, he was the only person in his life who’d never betrayed him.

And he definitely still didn't trust her, but Scary Marlowe was on their side again, for better or worse, and if keeping that damn knife as powerful as possible meant somebody else had to get her off so she didn't take care of things herself, well. He was more than man enough to step up to the plate.
It was hard to find a downside when he could still taste her on his lips.
