Right on beat, right on cue, a blur of blue and messy brown hair came rushing in. A boy landed next to her on the couch, donned in a blue zip up sweater, a dark blue hoodie, and a pair of light wash jeans. His hair was sticking out every which way, as though he didn’t brush it. He had a bright smile on his face, his bright blue eyes bore into her own. “Han!”
She heard Lex giggle from the kitchen, bright and ringing. Daniel’s laugh sounded about the same. “Danny!” Hannah exclaimed happily.
She wrapped her arms around his waist, nuzzling her head on his cheek like a cat. Daniel toyed with the strands of hair that had fallen out of her braids. She closed her eyes, finding peace in his touch. She loved when he played with her hair. And that was rare, because she usually didn’t like anyone to touch it. His hands were comfortably warm against her cold forehead.
