Your home is not small. The rustic white farmhouse has more than enough bedrooms to go around so that no one has to share. There is plenty of space to run and jump and play, and plenty more to hide and sulk in when the playing is done. The windows are wide, covered in gauzy curtains that do nothing to block out the sunlight, only turn it pretty colors before it hits the floors. Even cluttered with furniture and knickknacks and restless, noisy children, it is a never-ending place.
The house only feels small when your father is home.
All the spaces good for hiding in fill up with his presence. The endless hallways boom with his voice, stuffed to bursting. Every window casts his shadow whether he is there to block the colored light or not. Each room remembers him even when he is not in it, because he might be soon and it needs to be prepared.
You, too, are prepared. You, too, are made small.

Summary
Albus Potter has always been the black sheep in the family. He always tries to please his family and on top of that he was sorted into Slytherin, which nobody would have expected. The rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin and between the families doesn't necessarily make things better.
But then tension builds up in the magical world, everyone thought the wars were over and then Albus becomes more and more distant from his family.

Summary
Hal Jordan was dying long before a mission went wrong and his heart finally gave out.
He was dying when he signed the divorce papers. Dying without making it anyone else’s problem.
No one Noticed.
Not Bruce. Not Clark. Not the Justice League.And Hal was fine with that because twenty months ago he signed away the right to have anyone worry about him.
He would have kept it that way, too If he hadn’t burned himself out saving the world. If he hadn’t collapsed hard enough that everyone finally had to look.
Now Bruce and Clark are hovering like they never spent nearly two years avoiding him. Acting like this is their burden to carry, like they didn’t already decide, once, that letting him go was easier than staying.
Hal doesn’t understand it. There’s no cure. If Oa hasn’t found one, there’s no point in pretending otherwise. He’s made peace with dying.
