Avdol had been avoiding eye contact before, the sudden intensity of his gaze and sincere tone making him feel fluttery.

There was a tremor in his voice, barely noticeable.
“Only temporarily, but I could.”He blinked at him owlishly.
“What do you mean?”
Take his mind. Hold it. The idea of that should be unsettling, but something about the way it was said… It felt…“Hypnosis, Polnareff.”
