idk if its ever directly stated, but just incase, trigger warning for suicide/self harm content
this takes place after the entirety of the sinner's ballad, basically acting as the ending that never truly ends. atari, in a moment of cowardice after years of suffering without crow, ends himself in hopes of meeting him again and finally finding peace. after all his crime and sin, he is NOT granted such rest, and is instead met with arcus, the exiled god of the stars that atari has unknowingly mimicked, enough so for him to be considered worse than arcus. for such sin, atari gets to be tormented as the new god of the stars and still exiled, setting arcus to rest and forcing atari an eternity locked in his own cage, doomed to never see crow again !!! yay !!!
