Taurtis didn’t say a word.
She felt a lot of things. She felt betrayed, embarrassed, angry. But, Sam was right, nobody likes her either, and she didn’t want to go back to an empty house with ghosts clinging onto its walls.
She asked to sleep at their house. They said yes. She cuddled up to Taurtis, and fell asleep listening to his heartbeat.
She didn’t sleep at her own house after that.

“The three-piece?”
“Right.” Fujisaki nods shortly. “Just, because—my dad doesn’t either, and, um, I didn’t have my hair long enough to—for a lot of my, I mean, usually. And then I didn’t really know who I would ask. I thought, ah, I could ask one of the girls in my class? But I’m nervous to, and I don’t really want to explain why I don’t know—or make one of them uncomfortable—and you’ve never been mean to me about anything.” Fujisaki takes in a deep breath of air at the end of her ramble. “B-But you can still say no, Amami-kun, I won’t be angry.”
“I’d be happy to teach you,” Rantaro clarifies, lifting a hand, “so don’t worry about that. But are you sure your classmates would be uncomfortable? I’m pretty sure at least Maizono-san would just be happy to get some girl time in with a friend.”
“W-Well, yes,” Fujisaki admits, “but I—it’s different with me, right?”

She opted to ask one question that she had been entertaining since the start of this weird encounter. “I think I get what you’re saying, but why are you telling me this? You could have ignored what was happening, but you didn’t.”
Brawler was an Akudama, yes, but he was hiding a heart of gold underneath his rough and tumble exterior. It intrigued her. Did all Akudama hide more underneath the surface? What would happen if she were to speak with Doctor? Actually, no… Swindler probably wouldn’t get that far. That woman was not an ideal person to speak with, Akudama or not.
“Because,” Brawler limbered up his shoulders and struck a pose that emphasized his biceps. “Everybody deserves a fighting chance.”

Summary
Hacker is not one to quibble about the fine arts. In general, he is ruled by logic and rules, be it if he’s playing in one of his video games, hacking into a government database, or if he’s trying to finagle his way into getting free food from Swindler. There’s this sense of satisfaction he alone can feel when he manages to outwit authority by jumping through loopholes no one else can see.
It’s fulfilling.
With art like poetry and painting, it’s a lot harder to see what rules dictate how and why someone should use certain brushes or different strokes, what words or grammar would be best utilized to make a point. For someone like Hacker, art doesn’t make sense. Art is subjective; it is what you make of it and Hacker can’t quite recall what makes art… art.
