They hadn’t slept indoors since, well, Bucky couldn’t actually remember. The convent was a welcome surprise to all of the Howlies. Even Steve, who didn’t really get cold anymore, was visibly relieved. Here, deep behind enemy lines, were women who welcomed them with gentle smiles and firm hands. They’d gotten a hot meal and the opportunity to clean themselves of all the mud and sweat and blood.

Summary
Peter gets underestimated. Everyone calls him “kid,” as if he’s not part of the Avengers. Well anyway, contrary to what the others may think, he does notice things. Being in high school is good for something. Noticing when people have crushes, for one.
Nobody else seems to notice the way Captain America looks at the Winter Soldier. Peter is still not sure how to act around Cap. He’s a little intimidating, not a very approachable guy. He always looks very severe and serious and to be honest, Peter’s arms still hurt when he thinks about the fight at the airport. But when Steve’s looking at the Winter Soldier, he looks a lot more approachable. Softer, somehow. Peter likes him better that way. Not that he’d ever dare say that to Captain America’s face. He’s not in any hurry to die again. Anyway, the point is, Cap clearly has it bad for his best friend.

Summary
He punches the outer wall of the dilapidated apartment he's squatting in until his knuckles bleed, something he hasn’t seen in a long time. As he looks at the raw, broken skin, he remembers the calloused hands that used to dress his wounds, rough and dragging on his skin despite the delicate bones of the fingers that cared for him.
The memories of Steve taste like copper, the feeling of skinned knees and scraped knuckles coming back to him at the same time that he recalls sad blue eyes and a drop of blood falling from full red lips.
There's nothing he wouldn't do for Steve and yet, he's been avoiding him for well over half a year now.

Steve is still adjusting to life in the 21st century. His life nowadays is mostly lonely. Though he appreciates her good intentions, he always rebuffs Natasha's efforts to set him up on a date; he simply isn't interested in pursuing anything romantic.
At least, until Steve gets drunk on Asgardian liquor and a ridiculously handsome stranger at the bar catches his eye.

Summary
While on a mission storming a HYDRA facility, James Buchanan Barnes touches one of the many strange alien devices collected by the Red Skull. He does this, in fact, twice— in the past, and in the future.
Next thing he knows, Bucky Barnes is opening his eyes in the 21st century, which is full of great gadgets and coffee, and at least includes his old pal Steve. (And, inexplicably, a different Stark.) Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier finds himself in the middle of World War Two, helping Captain America hunt down HYDRA (which is at least familiar), pretending to be Bucky Barnes (which is not), and figuring out the very noisy group of soldiers who call themselves the Howling Commandos.

But when a pap gets a shot of the two men embracing, Bucky takes it as a chance to finally come out as bisexual, and his agent makes him a proposition: Ten new songs and one very sweet boyfriend will get him a new record deal that will maybe, just maybe put him back on top.Now all he has to do is write the songs, convince the kid, and not fall in love. Should be easy, right?

Steve’s already showered and changed into sweats and a tank top, his hair still sticking up in cowlicks. When Bucky drags himself to the couch, still in his uniform with soot on his face, Steve takes one look at him in the soft glow of the living room lamp and opens his arms.
Bucky drops the shield on the floor and crawls over Steve’s legs to collapse on top of him, tucks his face under Steve’s chin and exhales. “Jesus fucking Christ.”
