Summary
A year after the infectious outbreak that destroyed the world, Atsumu and a handful of other survivors are living in the relative safety of a prison they’ve secured. Kita leads their group, Suna takes care of them, Atsumu and Osamu cause more trouble than they should, and Sakusa is… Sakusa. Atsumu picked the worst time to develop feelings.
Osamu backtracks to him, keeping an eye out as Atsumu unzips his bag and starts to load up everything from the drawer. Bandages, packets of antibiotic gel, gauze pads, and a roll of medical tape. He pushes the drawer in and gives the next one a hard yank. There is an opened box of facemasks inside. The box says twenty count, but only a few remain inside.
“Jackpot,” he sing-songs to himself, shoving the whole box inside before zipping his bag back up.
Osamu is giving him an unreadable, flat stare as he stands, pulling his bag back into place.
“What?” he asks.
Osamu only shakes his head, turning back around and heading for the door again.

Summary
Atsumu has a long history of pissing people off, but this time he’s gone too far. Someone wants him dead, and although he doesn’t know who or why, it becomes clear very quickly that both he and Osamu are in danger. After a couple of close calls, Kita - the Kumicho of Inarizaki - decides it’s not safe for the two of them to stay in Hyogo; not until he finds out who placed the hit and eliminates them.
Atsumu reluctantly finds himself in Tokyo, taken in by a yakuza group that’s nothing like Inarizaki. The Black Jackals are a different breed, more lethal than he’s used to, and Sakusa Kiyoomi is the worst of them all. Of course that’s who Atsumu gets stuck with, and he and Sakusa are in constant competition for who hates each other more.
Tokyo should be a safe haven but between Atsumu’s bloody new assignments, the lingering threat on his life, and all the days trapped with Sakusa, Atsumu isn’t sure he’ll make it out of Tokyo alive.

Summary
Ever since the day Sakusa basically barged into Atsumu’s apartment out of Good Samaritan concern, he spends probably a concerning amount of time each day wondering if he’s made a terrible mistake.
No, the problem isn’t Atsumu. But maybe it is, considering he’s the reason for what Sakusa is suffering from. He would classify it as your run-of-the-mill infatuation.
He knows all the symptoms. Sometimes his fingers stop working when holding his pen. Sometimes he’s more nervous and sweatier, easier to fluster. Sakusa feels a little off-kilter when he’s around Atsumu, and he’s sure it’s different to his baseline because he’s cross examined it against how he feels when around his classmates, which is normal.

According to the gossiping players around him, Miya Atsumu is an asshole.
He's an incredible player in court and an obnoxious person off the court. He taunts people, points out their weakness, and doesn't give a shit if he's disliked or not. Some even say his teammates ostracize him.
Sakusa looks at Miya Atsumu and can only see a player who keeps his eyes firmly forward, demanding the same to the players who want to stay on the court. Sakusa can't fault him for that.
(That doesn't erase the fact that he's an asshole though. And that he's still the one who gave a jacket to a stranger.)
