Summary
Of all the places for Jayce to meet his untimely demise, of course it had to happen here.
In the ballroom of a Hextech donor gala; the air stuffy with the mixing of putrid, expensive perfumes, aerosol hair products to keep every strand in place, and the cake-y smell of too much makeup on skin that's too wrinkled and too thin to sustain it.
Seeing their family name on the donor placard was more than enough; he was just being incredibly naive and idiotic — and dare he say, hopeful — to think he wouldn't also run into them as well.
The only satisfaction he gets from seeing them in person again, after almost twenty years is that they've all aged like week-old sweetmilk left in the rays of a high noon's sun in the dead of summer, despite only being a few years older than him.
But maybe Jayce is just biased.

Jayce unexpectedly comes face to face with his past abusers turned benefactors at a Hextech donor gala. He copes in the only way he knows how, and Viktor assures him that he'll be there, every step of the way.

Summary
Viktor owes his old friends Vander and Silco a lot. But taking on the care of the badly abused young omega that Vander won in a card game is a hell of a lot to ask. They might owe Viktor, for this.
Still, Viktor isn't the kind of alpha who can turn away anyone in need, and Jayce is very much in need, so Viktor resigns himself to hosting a long-term guest and enduring his own personal hell in the form of a stunningly beautiful, sweetly-scented omega that he would have to be some kind of monster to even think about touching.
Even as Jayce begins to heal with the help of Viktor and his friends in the community, Viktor knows that the omega is destined for better things than an old, lame alpha with no real status to speak of.
Jayce—eventually—thinks otherwise.
