Summary
As Pocket’s career starts to decline, Pokke and Tachyon agonise in ways that aid no one, least of all themselves, and eventually come together (for better or worse). The 5 million years left until the sun dies somehow feels right around the corner.
A sequel to my previous poketaki work called 'Phantasm'. It's important that you've read that one first I'm afraid. Although this one is distinctly heavier so be warned.
This work uses a little custom HTML to change the color of some text, its not necessarily vital to understanding the story, but its pretty neat!

The stress Tachyon put on her body has caught up to her once again, she finds herself in hospital and has a very loaded conversation with her rival, Jungle Pocket, who only seems to shine even brighter when stood next to Tachyon's dimming light.
Tachyon tries to convince herself that this is fine. This is what she wanted, right?

Oh, this is going to be the one, she’s sure of it. She’ll pull off the experiment, and then she’ll cure herself and destroy every single race straight through to the Arima Kinen, and then she’ll jet off to Stockholm to become the first professional racer to also receive the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
