Summary
Drift looks at Scott, clearly desperate for some kind of explanation. Or backup, maybe. Scott suppresses the very ineloquent ‘I have no idea what the hell any of that is about, and it’s kind of ruining my plans for this chat’ that wants to escape his mind.
He falls back on centuries of being in power. It is not exactly what he wanted to present to Drift, but it seems Mr. M is drawing upon his apparent fantasy novels to try and ingratiate himself with the brood.
Who is Scott to deny a knight his lord?

Or: I am writing a retelling of vampires smp for myself, slowly. I have just gotten to the scene where Scott is trying to charm Drift into being okay with the fact that he turned her, and they nibble on M as part of the bonding, there. And look, it's a hilarious scene. It really is. But I'm trying to make Scott all scary and serious and manipulative, and I'm trying to make Drift's falling for it at least somewhat justifiable. And this just doesn't fit, as much as I would like it to. So here you go - I cut out the piece that was my attempt to make this scene happen in any reasonable way (complete failure) and put it here for posterity.

“You know, I’ve been hunting today. There have been quite a few animals about. You told me – you told me that if we eat enough, we get even stronger. I-I think I’m close.”
Scott hums in acknowledgement but doesn’t respond. The two of them sit quietly, hands on the slowly desecrating beacon. Pyro hates this silence. It lets him think. It lets him look at Scott, at his perfect skin, his casual pose, his terrifying claws, his red eyes. Eyes which catch him looking, which fail to crinkle at the corners as Scott smiles.
“I’m actually also quite close to ascending, Pyro. I just need a little more.”
The fledgling freezes, staring at his sire’s suddenly visible fangs.
Surely not. Surely.

aka, while writing my longer half-canon-compliant retelling of the show for myself i realized that the scene in episode four where scott reaches level 3 had some major (ha) evil potential if we ignore canon a little (a lot) and i wrote this as a way to calm down the rabid beast in my brain telling me that i should make it happen like the way i wrote it here in my in-progress fic.
so here, have some horrible violence, please enjoy.

Summary
When Scott went to the trouble of finding a magic user to help him sustain his immortality, even against vampiric means of death, it seemed like a great idea. He wanted to live forever, and the magic made sure that a little stake of wood couldn't be the thing to do him in. Which was shown to be necessary, considering the attack on him that occurred soon thereafter.
Unfortunately, it seems that the upset masses scrounged themselves up a magic user too. No one so talented or skilled, of course. Only money can bring that. But the witch got their job done in a simpler way.
By enchanting the tomb they shoved him into to never open again.

Or: Scott was awake for the 600 years that he was locked in a tomb. No amount of vampirism or stubbornness can save him from the horrific effects of such sensory deprivation.

Summary
After her father's death, Shelby's mother sends her to live with her distant cousin.
