I hated this kind of weather—the kind that made every drop of rain feel like an intrusion on my skin, a reminder of all the things I couldn’t escape. I walked through the alley, my tears blending seamlessly with the downpour, creating a stinging river down my cheeks.
As I passed, the door of a bar creaked open, the smell of stale beer and coke bleeding into the damp air, heavy and sour. The sign above it caught my attention: The Last Drop. I grimaced at the name, though I already knew what I’d find inside. It wasn't the kind of place you loved or even liked—it was just there.
