"Agh! These things suck ass!"
"You've said that three times now, idiot."
Yuu glared over at his 'friend.' The proper term would be a frenemy, but the raven could admit that Kimizuki had some excellent qualities.
"Whatever. Anyway, when is this thing supposed to start?"
Kimizuki looked at his screen, reading quickly. "In about 10 minutes. Why, you got someplace to be?"
Yuu scowled and decided not to answer him. Instead, he took a sip from the can of blood soda given to him and the others waiting in line. It was too carbonated for his taste, but since they had yet to go into the club, he had to deal with it.
The club was built underground for Vampires, like Yuu and Kimizuki, to house them for "legal donations." In actuality, it was a club made for humans who believed in Vampires or general people who wanted to get off steam and for Vampires to laze about for fresh blood. Of course, the Vampires made sure to wipe any memories unless the human asked, and replace them with other, safer memories. Of course, they have given consent too.
"So, you going to find a new human to fancy with? Or a new vampire?" Yuu asked his buddy, just as the doors opened, and people began to stream in. Already, the chest-deep boom of EDM shook inside them, more so when they were inside. Thank god their hearing adapted to distance.
Kimizuki shrugged, weaving past two girls and a guy who were checking about their make-up. "Dunno yet."
Together, they went down the spiral steps and stepped into the sterile air. Already, they could spot dance platforms where both women and men were dancing. Outfits all matching of leather pants or shorts and low cut V tee's. To add the effect, they all wore some heel shoes and matching leather collars. If Yuu focused on their faces, there was eyeliner in a perfect wing and smokey eye shadow.
He could sense the bloodlust growing in the air. Vampires on the prowl, already checking out the thighs and necks of the dancers. He could hear some gasps and moans already from Human pairs. Wordlessly, he and Kimizuki found a circle love seat by a male dancer.
As they sat down and settled, Yuu watched as Kimizuki's attention was on the boyish cherub dancer in front of them. Spinning and climbing up on the pole, one leg crossed to keep him in the balance as he leaned back. Yuu smirked, watching as the pink-haired male gulped and met eyes with leaf green.
When the dancer turned to fix a new part, Yuu leaned over and elbowed his buddy with a smug smirk.
"You gonna try that one?"
"Bug off. Why don't you find yourself some action, huh?"
Shaking his head, Yuu waved for a waiter as he lounged back in the seat. "I'll give it some time."
Eventually, the waiter returned with a glass of O negative and a glass of A positive. As he set the glass of A on the small table, he noticed that the dancer had moved off the stage and in front of Kimizuki.
Well now.
Smiling to himself, the raven-haired man took a small sip of the blood.
Female. Around the mid-30s, with a faint trace of tobacco- a smoker. Cringing, he gingerly put down the glass and looked away as the dancer proceeds to lap dance his friend. Of course, looking elsewhere that wasn't proactive or reeking of the smell of blood was difficult.
He gulped.
"Yuu!! Heyyyyy, there!" a shrill voice said suddenly, while a small weight draped over his back.
With a huff, he looked back at the lilac-haired woman smiling at him with a wide grin. He could see the bright hickey on her neck and shoulders while a blond-haired woman in pigtails walked up.
"Shinoa. Mitsuba. Didn't think you'd be here."
"Of course, we are! It's the only place where we can escape to without questions!"
The was a slur to Shinoa's words, more than likely from some alcoholic drink. There was a faint smell of wine in her breath, too. Without prompting, though, she and Mitsuba made themselves comfortable in their little circle. When Yuu looked over, he wasn't surprised to see Kimizuki and that dancer making out, greedily feeling up the other. When they had pulled back, Yuu watched as Kimizuki's eyes flash red- a sign that he was a vampire. What he didn't expect, however, was for that dancer to mimic it with his pair of red eyes.
Interesting.
He looked away when the two began to lean into each other's neck, hoping to make conversation with the girls but found Mitsuba already kissing and suck at Shinoa's neck, while the girl herself was giggling and leaning back. While he shouldn't have, he watched when Mitsuba's fangs grew and pierced through Shinoa's flesh. The sighing moan and the dual groans from either side did nothing with aiding his bloodlust.
He eyed the glass of blood on the table, the O negative, and thought back to blonde hair and blue eyes. He'd never had his boyfriend's blood before, except the times when there was a cut or a scraped knee, but even then, only a drop or two. He sorely wished to partake now, but he knew that his boyfriend wouldn't like it.
"Drink it, man. I can smell your bloodlust from here." Kimizuki said suddenly. When Yuu looked over, he saw the pink-haired man leaning up. Blood dribbled from his mouth and the open neck of the dancer. The dancer himself continued to drink, nuzzled snugly into his frenemy's neck. "Better yet, why didn't you invite your boyfriend?"
He picked up the glass and downing it one go with a wince. "This isn't his type of scene."
Kimizuki shrugged, cast a glance over to the now kissing girls, and then back to Yuu.
"Go home if you're not going to enjoy this properly. I don't think you're partner would mind if you took from here."
He wouldn't. His boyfriend had even encouraged him. But...
"Yeah. Yeah, I'll do that." Yuu finally said, standing up. He waved goodbye to Kimizuki and the girls, who didn't even see it and weaved his way back out to the entrance. Up the stairs and out the door, the crisp October air greeted him.
It felt good—the cold.
He checked his phone, preparing a text for his partner, but paused. Smiling, he decided to make his arrival and surprise. Following the path he could take by muscle memory alone, he headed down the streets in the direction of his partner's apartment.
Mikaela sat in his room, dressed in pajamas and fuzzy socks. In his lap, a tub of Ben and Jerry's lay, aReese and chocolate combo. On his laptop was an episode of some random rom-com, one he didn't catch the name of, but something to laugh at.
His boyfriend had gone to some 'Blood Rave,' as he'd call it. While he was okay with Yuu going to anything related to his kind, he had to admit; it did get a bit lonely. After all, with Yuu being immortal and he mortal...
He shook his head, ridding himself of that thought. It wouldn't do him right to linger on those thoughts anyway.
Twenty minutes showed him with pillows propped up behind him and the tub of ice cream off to the side. The laptop was on his lap now, and the romcom switched for True Blood. Ironic, with the show being about Vampires, and he happened to date one. He almost laughed at the thought.
He startled when a knock came from the window, and he whipped his head around to the one connected to his bedroom.
Speak of the devil.
Yuu grinned at him, waving, as he balanced effortlessly on the window sill. With a heavy exhale, Mika stood and opened up the window, letting inside his boyfriend. "Way to drop in unannounced."
Yuu shut the window after him, grinning all the while. Mika felt his heart beat just a bit faster.
"Couldn't help it."
As they settled in and Yuu took off his shoes, Mika slid back onto the bed, retaking the laptop to his former place.
"I thought you were gone with Kimizuki for that...what do you call it, 'Blood Rave'?"
"You're saying you don't wanna see me?"
"I'm saying I was under the impression my boyfriend was at his little vampire thing and not here to see me eating ice cream from the tub and watching shitty romcoms."
Of course, Yuu laughed. Flopping onto the bed, he reached over for the tub and spoon, peering inside. With a little bit of glee, he took his spoonful of ice cream, humming to himself. Mika merely shook his head and pressed play.
Yuu peered over at the screen, scootching up to lay against Mika's side. The scene was a blood-drinking one, unfortunately for Yuu, depicting that first time between Sookie and Bill. Even the fake blood and bite stirred up his bloodlust, making him gulp silently and reposition himself.
"Did you get to drink at the party?" Mika asked, glancing over at Yuu. He knew the cues of his boyfriend when he was thirsty- constant observance gave him the upper hand. Yuu shrugged, replied, "mostly," and dropped it off at that. Mika didn't pry any further.
Eventually, his thoughts drifted to when they had first met. When Yuu had saved him from a mugger, following the scent of his blood. At that time, Yuu had said Mika's blood was the most "heavenly smelling blood" he'd ever known. Of course, he didn't push Mika down and take. Despite having not drunk blood for a while, which he had confessed to after Mika was discharged from the hospital, he remained control and offered to take him out for lunch.
That's how it started. Then one date became two, two became three, until a month later they began to date. While Mika should've been afraid, Yuu never once did anything wrong to him. He took the pre-made blood alternatives, brought from the blood donors at the local pharmacy, but never pressured or asked Mika himself. Sure, there were moments when Mika would get a scrape, and Yuu would do a single lick, but...
"What type?"
"A smoker's. It wasn't terrific."
Mika did chuckle, but then sobered. Yuu must've noticed the change in his heartbeat, for he sat up and gently put aside the laptop. The episode had been paused as Yuu lifted Mika's face gently.
"Hey, everything okay?"
Mika glanced up into those emerald eyes, full of concern and comfort. Of course, there was an inhuman glow to them, one Mika noticed up close. Deep under the pupil, he could see the faint wisps of red wriggling, wanting to emerge.
A sign of a thirsty Vampire. One Yuu himself had taught him.
"I'm just...thinking. Of everything. Us. You and you're nature. I just...I feel inadequate, I guess." Mika confessed sullenly, wrapping his arms around himself.
Yuu made a sound of pity, bringing Mika into his arms. Mika returned the hug slowly, snuggling into the crook of Yuu's shoulder. Yuu rubbed his back slowly, humming out of tune. It did its job of calming Mika down, even as he counted the beats of Yuu's own heart. Slower than a human's, but somehow more powerful.
"I'm happy being with you, Mika. Whether or not your a vampire doesn't matter to me. As long as I can spend time with you, I don't care. I hope you feel the same way, too." Yuu said, holding Mika just a little tighter.
Of course, he felt the same way.
"Yuu-chan...you...you're great. I'm fortunate to be with you..." God, words were not his strong suit. "I don't...agh, this is hard."
Yuu laughed softly, pulling back to smile at the other. His thumb rubbed against the blond's cheekbone, slowly, lovingly. Always patient. Mika smiled back softly, closing his eyes in silent askance.
Yuu's own eyes closed as he leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Mika's lips. They lingered before pulling back. Then in again. Then out. Slow, deep kisses. Enough for Mika to be breathless when Yuu's hand sipped down to his waist. His own hands came up to cup the raven's jaw.
Their kiss didn't progress further, though Mika could sometimes feel the sharp press of Yuu's fangs when they angled. When they pulled apart and peered at the other, Mika was taken away at the vivid scarlet shining in Yuu's eyes. Inhuman, in the twisted way of beauty.
Yuu made a questioning noise before coming to a conclusion. He pulled back, quickly looking away, an apology leaving his lips swiftly; "S-sorry, I didn't mean-"
"Bite me."
Yuu gawked, staring at the hardened eyes of his lover. A blush was high on his cheeks, but his face was set, determination raw and open. Yuu could feel his face warming quickly.
"I-I..."
Mika inhaled and then exhaled, reaching up to undo the top buttons of his nightshirt. Yuu continued to watch as Mika even stripped away the shirt and sat back a bit. The smooth, untouched collum of his throat and shoulders were creamy and pinkish. The raven could hear the blood pumping under the skin, beating life into Mika.
He wanted that so badly. He'd craved it for so long.
"A-are you serious? Really??" Yuu asked once more, both shocked but apprehensive. What if Mika hated it and wanted to break up? What if he was in pain and hated Yuu after that? What if-
"I am. I've thought about this...for a while now, actually," he replied, bashfully it seemed. He cast his gaze aside before continuing. "I mean, we've been together for...a year now and you- I mean, I know you need to drink blood and everything and I-"
"Mika. Stop."
They both looked at each other for a moment, before Mika sighed. Yuu's hand had grasped the blond's, rubbing soothing circles on his knuckles. "I want to try this. I've heard from people about their experience and done the research...and you've even told me everything so..."
"As long as you're sure you want this," Yuu said, making sure Mika was completely aware of his decision. "I don't want you to regret it."
Mika shook his head, moving his hands up to bring Yuu's head in close. When at last, Yuu was pressed into the juncture of Mika's neck and shoulder, he exhaled and brought the blond closer with arms around his waist.
"It's okay. I trust you, Yuu-chan."
With another gulp, Yuu kissed the area of skin gently. A small sigh came from Mika, but then he jolted when Yuu licked the spot. He kitten licked at it a couple of times, feeling the blood pulse more. With a shaky exhale and one last nod from Mika, he poised his fangs above the skin before biting down.
The first prick brought a jerk from Mika, but once Yuu had fully embedded, a jolt when through him. Pleasure zipped down his spine, bringing a soft moan. Yuu bore down harder, gulping down.
Mika's blood was heavenly. Since the first whiff a year ago, Yuu has been addicted to it. Now that he was finally having it, it felt like he was drunk. The warmth, the life of Mika in flowing down into him, becoming one. It made him want to return the same, to return the sensation of life. The fire brimming deep in their souls.
The euphoria of vitality.
"Ha...mm, Y-Yuu-chan..."
Emerald eyes snapped open. Carefully, Yuu retracted himself, peering down at the blissed-out face of his lover. Mika's eyes were close, a high blush on his cheeks, and his mouth formed in an O. Yuu realized that they'd had been teetering back, Mika bent back in an arch and his arms braced securely over Yuu's shoulders.
"Mika! Hey, snap out of it!" the raven prodded, laying down the other carefully. Slowly, blearily, Mika's eyes blinked open, pupils blown wide. When he saw Yuu, a little smile formed on his lips as he relaxed further.
"That was nice..." the blond said, giggling a bit.
He didn't realize he'd pumped that much venom into the other. Softly, Yuu pet the side of Mika's face, earning a nuzzle. At least he seemed okay, and not upset.
"Stay here. I'll go get a bandaid and wipe."
Mika only gave a little noise, snuggling into the pillows more. Yuu eyed the new, bloodied bite with an inhale, before finally turning away.
By the time everything was cleaned and fixed up, Mika was struggling to keep awake as he and Yuu snuggled together. The laptop had been cast aside so they could snuggle together easier. Yuu continued to scritch and massage at Mika's scalp, while his other hand kept a secure but gentle hold on the blond. A faint candle continued to glow as the only source of light.
"You sure you feel alright?" Yuu asked, for the hundredth time it seemed.
With another nod, Mika snuggled further into Yuu's chest. He felt so safe, so warm and content. Yuu relaxed once more, inhaling the smell of oranges from Mika's shampoo.
This isn't how he expected the night to end after accepting Kimizuki's offer, but he had to admit.
It was better than anything in the world.
