A small smile traced Sawamura Eijun’s lips as he looked at his husband who held their child protectively in his arms, while both on them were asleep on the couch. Eijun laid his keys down at the table, trying to keep the noise as low as he could, while he walked over to them. After he covered both of them with a blanket he sat down in front of the couch to watch them.
He couldn’t think of anything more relaxing than seeing them with these peaceful faces.
Sawamura Eijuki and Miy- no, he corrected himself in his thoughts, Sawamura Kazuya. He had to held back a laugh, he remembered that they couldn’t decide which last name to take and fought so much over it that Kuramochi Youichi, even after their time at Seido a close friend, decided it’d be Sawamura after “Heads or Tails”. At first Kazuya were annoyed but soon got used to the thought of being called Sawamura instead of Miyuki. Actually both of them never wanted to get married in the first place, they were fine with simply living together and enjoying eachothers company. There were no need to confirm the love they felt for each other on the paper but that changed when a little someone made his way into their life.
Eijuki.
They met the little, back then 5 year old orphan when he visited one of their games with his orphanage. Back then their meeting was an accident, Eijun were playing around with an baseball in front of the stadium and wanted Kazuya to catch the ball. But Kazuya ignored him so Eijun simply threw the ball in his direction , the catcher easily dodged the ball but didn’t expected it to hit one of the little kids who just walked past them.
Soon after the little boy got hit, both of them hurried up to him to make sure that he was fine. Eijun remembered that day clearly…

“Oh my god!” Sawamura hurried to crouch down right beside the boy he just hit with an ball at the head, an furious Miyuki deadly on his trail.
“Are you okay?! I am so SO sorry, I didn’t wanted to hit you!” worriedly he checked up the head of the boy. Miyuki had reached them by now “Bakamura! How often did I tell you NOT to mess around so carelessly?!”. Sawamura gave the older boy an apologizing smile “I already said I’m sorry…”
The boy just stared at him with big brown eyes while Miyuki hurried to the woman who was in charge of the children to apologize for his stupid boyfriend. After some minutes the little boy tugged at Sawamuras Shirt.
The pitcher raised his eyebrow in an questioning way “Yes?” he thought the shy behavior of the boy was totally cute. “Aren’t you…that noisy pitcher from Yomiuri Giants?”.
Cut that ‘cute behavior’ comment, he takes it back. “Yes…yes I am one of the Yomiuri Giants’ pitchers”. At this statement the eyes of the boy started to sparkle, as if this changed his view of Sawamura. “I also play in the position of the pitchers when I play baseball with my friends! One day I wanna be a good and known pitcher like you!”. The eyes of the boy beamed with joy, this sight made Sawamuras heart swell with affection, where kids supposed to be such cute little creatures?
“Maybe not as stupid as you…but I also want a unique pitching form!”
And there goes the affection.
“I see…” Sawamura grabbed his own baseball cap and put it on the head of the boy “then keep this as lucky charm? It is full with all the experience and feelings I carried with me since my days at Seido…you can give it back to me when you made it into an baseball team ok? Until then you keep it as an promise between you and me, two pitchers”.
Behind them Miyuki observed the scene with an smile, warmth spreading in his chest. Moments like this reminded him while he fell in love with his stupid pitcher. Eijun could be really loud and annoying, was not smartest and sometimes didn’t knew when to stop but no matter what he did, he did everything with passion and always put his whole heart into it.
He also had to admit that Sawamura would make a great father, but this thought also made him feel a little but guilt because that is the one thing he couldn’t give Sawamura. The pitcher always claimed he were fine with the fact that their family only included the two of them but Miyuki always saw the way Sawamura look at children when Youichi and Wakana visited them with their Daughters.
He shook his head and pushed these thoughts away, because for now that didn’t mattered. Both of them were far to busy to be even able to raise an child.
The catcher walked over to his pitcher and ruffled the hair of the little boy “I’d be very happy if you became an good pitcher as him but without that stupidness !” he said while smirking at his boyfriend. Said boy puffed his cheeks while glaring at Miyuki before he turned his attention to the young boy “You know,what do you think about joining us next week for an ice cream or such? As little apologize for hitting you with an ball” Sawamura asked while scratching the back of his head “ah, only if he is allowed to of course” he hurried while looking at the boys advisor.
The older woman nodded slowly “I am sure we’ll find some way to make that possible”. The woman opened her gray handbag an handed Sawamura, a few minutes later, a card with the Name and Address. Sawamura and Miyuki bid their goodbyes and hurried back to the Stadium.
On their way Miyuki hit Sawamura at the head “Baka! How often did I tell you to be careful with what you do ,huh?!” Sawamura rubbed the back of his head,where Miyuki had hit him,playfully while showing a bride gin “I’m sorry, if you would have just simply caught it the boy wouldn’t have gotten hit you know”.
Miyuki simply shook his head and took the card away from Sawamura, after he read the Address he slowed down until he stopped totally “This is the Address to an orphanage”.
Sawamura stopped beside Miyuki and read the Address again “oh…well,another reason to make him an amazing day next week!”. With an smile on the lips Miyuki watched his boyfriend as said boy grinned at him, cheeks red from the excitement and the brown eyes he fell in love with shining brighter than usual. He grabbed Sawamuras wrist and pulled him close enough to wrap his arms around the younger boys body and pulling him in for an little peck on the lips before leaning his forehead against Sawamuras and stared at their, now, intertwined their fingers “I love you,Eijun”. When he looked up again a bright red blush spread over Sawamuras face.
How cute,even after all those years I still always get the same reaction I got after our first kiss and confession.
The pitcher glared at his catcher “I..l-love you too,now come bakayuki,or else we’ll be late“ with that words he sprinted off.With his typical smirk Miyuki followed him “I’m on my way darling~” “I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME THAT!!!”
