Opposites Shouldn't Attract

Summary:

Amy Dallon is the kind of person Taylor sort of wants to set a swarm of bees on.

Taylor Hebert is the kind of person Amy wants to yell at.

So why are they so puzzling to one another? And why is she pretty??

Chapter 1: She's awful, difficult, and oddly pretty

Chapter Text

It didn’t make sense to her. It hadn’t when she realized and it surely didn’t now. Sitting there zoning out, Taylor tried to re-evaluate the girl in front of her but she constantly arrived at the same conclusion.

“Are you even fucking listening to me? God, you’re so fucking impossible! You can’t even listen right you dumb bug bitch!” As she screamed at her face like a banshee Taylor reaffirmed what she’d been thinking since she began spending time with the girl.

Amy Dallon was a fucking bitch.

“I stopped listening once I noticed you were just hurling insults at me without a valid point.” Taylor’s deadpan came easy, the urge to clench her fist or grit her teeth lessened by her skittering bugs keeping her as grounded as ever.

Amy’s freckles stuck out in a contrast to the livid red of her face while she hissed back, “Oh you’d like for me to get to the point huh? You-” There wasn’t a point in hearing another wave of verbal assault. That’s why Taylor cut her off, and not at all because it gave her great satisfaction to see Amy fume a little more.

“That would be Ideal yes, thank you Amy” The cool even tone of the bug master's voice was almost ruined by the grin she felt the compulsion to let spread across her face.

Although the healer kept up her furious blazing tone and foul profanities in plentiful supply, she also started to get to work proper. Muttering curses at her all the while. At least with the way the light bounced off her mop of messy brown hair she managed to be not the worst thing to pay attention to. They were making a fresh wave of relay bugs, this time with the hope of making them feel less.. unnatural to Taylor’s power. This of course meant prolonged collaboration, and neither of them was very happy about that.

Taylor didn’t think it would be this bad though.

The walking support class personified was difficult to get along with in the nicest of terms and more like trying to talk to a wasp nest in blunt language. Honestly, with her powers, Taylor would take the wasp nest itself to most people but still! It was the principle!

On top of it, she was a goddamn puzzle. Amy constantly goes to the hospital to heal people, any free time she can spare? She’ll be there. Yet she never seems to like it. In fact, the world-famous kind healer Panacea seems to genuinely hate her job. Amy wasn’t kind in any form or way so why go? Why torture herself? It seems to make her an abhorrent person to spend time with, what with making herself miserable to such a degree.

Still, Amy heals more than she sleeps. It was more common for them to stop working so that she can pick up another shift than it was for her to excuse herself home for rest. The duffle bags she carries around under her eyes is proof of it.

Amy Dallon was a fucking bitch who doesn’t take care of herself. In fact, She works a job she despises to help as many people as she can. Taylor just can’t make sense of it.

This has no solid plan, I'll update when I get the urge to write some mediocre content.
