Summary
Shadow Milk has been stuffed into Pure Vanilla's underclothes. As much as he despises his inability to wear his jester clothing, it's far too hot for that many layers. “Ughhhh… ‘Nilla, it's so HOT!” He whines, pouting up at him as he floats along beside him.
“I don't particularly enjoy it either, dear, but it's not too bad.” He shrugs, holding his hand lightly. Most of the townsfolk seem to agree with Pure Vanilla, only running a fan or two in their stalls. They've been lovingly pestering the king all day, offering him their wares per usual.
“Your Majesty! Please, won't you accept some homemade bread? It's a cranberry loaf, your favorite!” A woman chirps, waving at him eagerly.
“Oh, well of course. Thank you Madame Vanillin!” He accepts yet another gift graciously, though Shadow Milk can tell all the interaction is starting to weigh on him.

Summary
Pure Vanilla awakens to multiple texts from many people, Black Raisin, Golden Cheese, Dark Cacao, Hollyberry, White Lily, Strawberry Crepe even, all with the same message, with different emojis and gifs attached. “Happy birthday Pure Vanilla!” They all say, each with their own customizations.
Pure Vanilla smiles softly, then senses something's strange, looking around for Shadow Milk. He's nowhere to be found, his side of the bed lukewarm, like he only recently left. He decides to sit and wait, taking the time to reply to each of his friends.
He frowns slightly in consideration. Hmm… they remembered, or I guess… figured out? I don't know how, perhaps the kingdom records. Regardless, I didn't know it was today…Or: Happy belated birthday Pure Vanilla!

Summary
The evening is warm, basked in the glow of a quickly fading twilight. Towards the back of the Hollyberry ballroom, two people dance elegantly along with the music, twirling and spinning in a world to themselves. The shorter one, wearing an elaborately decorated wolf mask, seems to be both leading and following, guiding his partner along the dance floor. The taller one, long hair plaited into a braided bun, is wearing a sheep mask of equal decorum, letting himself be guided.
“I've never liked masquerades. They feel dishonest.” Pure Vanilla murmurs, letting him perform another show-stopping spin. “Thank you for actually walking for this, by the way. I have no idea how you learned again quickly enough to dance.”
Shadow Milk shrugs. “Magicians never reveal their secrets.” He reminds, easing gracefully into the newly established box step the song calls for.Or: Continuing my main plot, because yes, my fics are in order for a reason ;p

Summary
Shadow Milk sighs heavily to himself. Ugh. What to wear… he leafs through his clothing, frowning at it all.
Pure Vanilla is practically vibrating with excitement next to him, lightly bouncing from foot to foot. “Isn't this a lovely day, Bluebird? I'm so incredibly excited!”
His smile is lighting up the room far more than the sunlight through the balcony doors, making Shadow Milk pause to smile. “Yes, the day seems nice and warm.” He agrees, returning to his clothes.
“If you don't have anything, couldn't you just… magic up something?” He suggests, getting more bouncy.
He really wants to go soon, I know. Fine dear. He nods, despite his inability to see, waving his hand a few times to pick out a pair of swim trunks. He frowns at them all, before settling on a longer pair, just above the knee, and adorned with his signature cyan diamonds. He grabs an equally black top, off the shoulders and soft for ease of removal.
“Alright, I'm ready!” He grins, offering his arm for Pure Vanilla, who happily takes it.
“I honestly can't believe I coaxed you into a beach day. I know you'd much rather feel the warmth of the sun from inside, so I appreciate you agreeing to come.” He comments, an extra spring in his step.Series

Summary
Pure Vanilla awakens to someone clinging to his arm. He smiles warmly, leaning over to nuzzle against a familiar cheek… only to find it missing, replaced by cold pillow. “Shadow Milk? Or perhaps Custard?” He questions empty air, opening his eyes. He looks down to his arm, finding a small boy with wide eyes looking up at him. His clothes and skin are blue, his short white hair curling around his cheeks. He looks scared and small, tugging his sleeve a little.
“H-hello. I'm Blueberry Jam, sorry to w-wake you. I hope you don't mind I'm h-here.” Pure Vanilla stares down at the small boy, who looks so like his partner, and decides to just smile.
“It's quite alright. Mmm… do you know where Shadow Milk has gone?” He asks softly, carefully tugging him into his arms. Blueberry Jam fidgets, nervous.
“H-he… went away. He had a scary dream, and he wanted to hide, s-so he let me front today.”
Front? What does that mean?Or Shadow Milk has DID, and a particularly tumultuous period of time forces it all to spill out of him, and now Pure Vanilla must learn how well he can truly navigate the pieces of his partner.
