Dumbledore is dead, and his plans seem to be falling apart before Severus' eyes. Harry Potter and his friends are no closer to finding and destroying the Horcruxes, and Voldemort's hold over the wizarding world is growing. Severus Snape desperately creates a potion that can send him back five years into the past. Hopefully, with more time, he can find the Horcruxes, find a way to save Harry from the Horcrux inside him and maybe even save some of his other students along the way.
Or he could fail and doom them all.

He has a duty to Lily Evans, the best friend he ever had, and therefore to her son and her sister. He finds himself assuming the role of the child's uncle. As it happens, the friendship between Severus Snape and Petunia Dursley changes both of them, both of their lives, Hogwarts, and their world's future for the better. (It's so much easier to be a good person when you're not clinically depressed, afraid for your family, or stuck in your past trauma).
This is a lengthy story meandering through Harry's childhood, with eventual plans to see it through his Hogwarts years and a very different resolution to canon. But in the meantime, the goal is cuteness and exploring a world with better-adjusted adults in it.

“That would be because Father sent me to kill you.”
Zuko’s good eye widens. Uncle bodily shoves himself between them, hands ready to fire bend at her. Azula rolls her eyes.
“I’m not going to.”(The Avatar State AU where Azula commits a tiny bit of treason, Zuko becomes one with the righteous sort of rage that leads to patricide and Iroh is not sure if this is the best way to stop the war, but he'll go with it).
