“I remember her giving me a gift in winter.” D admitted quietly, “I’m not sure if it was this holiday or not, but I remember her being happy about the day. She liked holidays, I think.”
His brother clearly did not expect this level of honesty in return, and something in his expression seemed to shift. There was a hesitance, yes, but also an eagerness he could not conceal.
“Do you remember what she looked like?”
D did not answer, which his brother took to be an answer in itself, albeit with a haughty huff. He nodded and leaned back, humming to himself. Minutes passed before it was D who broke the silence by returning the question. “Do you?”
