Nothing can pull his eyes away from her. All he can think of is her. How little she is. He didn’t know she was there and look at what he went and did to her. Drank, stressed himself out, put his life and health on the line, and the person taking the brunt of it was her. She didn’t ask for that, and he put her through it anyway, even if it was unknowingly.
How’s he supposed to be a good dad when the first gift he gave her was near-death, before even giving her life?
