Summary
Frustrated that her father's lawsuit prevented her from inheriting her beloved grandfather's farm, Amelia is trying to muddle through life in Zuzu City. On her way to work, she runs into her childhood friend, Sebastian, who has recently moved to the city to chase his own dreams. Will romance blossom as they rekindle their friendship?

"Amelia?" the barista called out, and Amelia flashed him a grateful smile as she approached the counter to collect her drink, the dark haired man who'd been standing by the counter moving out of the way so she could reach it.
"And… Sebastian?" the barista continued, placing another drink on the counter. The dark haired man moved forward, his elbow bumping against Amelia's accidentally.
"Shit!" he swore, turning towards her. "My bad, sorry about…" He blinked, stormy grey eyes meeting hers in shock. "Lia?" he gasped, his jaw dropping in surprise.
"Bastian?" Amelia replied, equally surprised to see him there.

Summary
Sam arrives home after a long day at work. His daughter has a surprise for him.

"Hey Squirrel," Sam said, hanging his jacket up as he tried to collect his bearings.
"Hi Daddy!" Kendra waved at him, her hands sticky with what he hoped was strawberry jam. Given that she had a smear of peanut butter on her face, too, he figured it was probably a good guess. "Look, I made dinner!"
Kendra jumped off the chair she had pulled up to the counter and ran towards him to give him a hug, wrapping her arms around him before he could ward her off. Not that he really wanted to. Sam picked his six-year-old up and squeezed her tight, adding bath time and laundry to his mental after work to-do list. "I see that," he said, looking at the loaf of bread scattered across the counter, globs of peanut butter and definitely jam spread over them with more enthusiasm than accuracy. "Where's Mommy?" he asked, setting her down.

Summary
Sam and Sebastian are in their late 20's and struggling to find their places in the world. Programming work is running dry in Zuzu City, and Sebastian faces the reality that he's going to have to move back home. He and Sam (who never left town) pool their savings and buy Pam's old trailer. To help make ends meet, Sebastian decides to join the Adventurer's Guild, with Sam at his side. Can these two friends with benefits find true love in the Mines?

For a long minute there was nothing but silence, as Sam stared at his hands and Sebastian shifted in his chair.
"Alright," Marlon said, finally, his voice causing Sam to jump. "We've heard enough." Sam braced himself to be told to get out, but Marlon spoke again. "We'll take you both on for a trial period. You won't be full members of the Guild until you each slay ten slimes on your own, but we won't have you go down in the caves until you've had some training."
"No shit," Gil muttered, but when Sam met his gaze, he was smiling.

Written for Sambastian Week Day 7: Midnight Ride
On his way to the lookout, Sebastian reminisces about his relationship with Sam. He hopes this trip will be extra special.

Sam was a regular passenger. His legs were a little too long and gangly for the bike — if he were to get a motorcycle of his own, he'd probably need it to be raised higher — but they made it work. At first, Sebastian had enjoyed going for rides alone, only extending an offer for a trip out of town to Sam on occasion, but that had all changed when they'd started dating a couple of years ago. Now, as often as not, when Sebastian's motorbike roared to life, there were two passengers seated firmly on it.

"Yeah," Seb agreed, his mind furiously racing as an idea started to form. He couldn't suggest it though… right? "What if we make it more interesting, though?"
His heart raced as Sam looked at him in excitement. "What did you have in mind?" he asked with a grin.
"Strip Plumber Kart," Sebastian said, forcing the words out of his mouth before he could change his mind.

Summary
Having broken both his arms a month prior in a spectacularly unlucky skateboard accident, Sam has been stir-crazy ever since. Sebastian has the house to himself this weekend and the two get up to their usual hijinks, albeit with Sebastian acting more as a caretaker than a friend due to his current condition. It's due to their close friendship that Sam makes a bold request for help with handling something a little more intimate, not realizing that Sebastian harbors a crush for him and is all-too-eager to assist.
AKA... the one where Sam breaks both his arms and asks Sebastian to get him off. Written for Sambastian Week 2026 for the prompt 'My Best Friend'.
