Summary
When peace is announced Trapper John goes to Maine to see his friend hoping to make amends and reconnect now that that chapter of their lives is fully closed.
Unfortunately, he was under the incorrect assumption that Hawkeye made it back not long after he did. Instead of finding Hawkeye he finds the extended Pierce family making ready for his arrival home. Cousin Bill is volunteered to help Trapper navigate the ruffled feathers he encounters--apparently Hawkeye is the only Pierce that doesn't hold on to a grudge.
He learns a bit more about his friend and worries it might be too late to say hello again, never mind goodbye.

He instinctively leaned away from the hand while trying not to move his head, as Charles, Lieutenant Epps, and Father Mulcahy appeared to have a brief conversation. They all looked slightly troubled, especially Father Mulcahy, whose eyebrows were knit tightly together, a hand wrapped around his rosary. ... Summary
Multi-fic series driving toward post-war BJ/Peg/Hawkeye/Trapper.
This series will be mostly explicit, sequential fics beginning between S4/S5 and going forward from there.
Each fic will be tagged with the respective ship it's focused on, so readers who prefer Hawk/Beej will have plenty to enjoy before the post-war pivot, but given that we're ultimately progressing toward a post-war quad, please note that Peg is, even when narratively minimally mentioned, a welcome background presence in BJ's life all along the way <3
