Summary
The duality of feelings was beginning to feel unbearable. He was having the time of his life. Seeing his fans in a different scenario, away from youtube and everything it once meant, was a magnificent experience. Every night he was received with cheers and happy faces from people who indulged him in making the audience look as an extension of the stage, all dressed in black and orange and gold and silver (and an awful lot of rainbows). He loved them.
But he missed Phil. He missed him so much the pain in his chest wouldn’t go away anymore.
Or
Dan is away on the US leg of WAD. Phil is back home trying to get his helath back in track. Dan misses him but is having the time of his life at the same time.

Anon: Hey, you asked for phanfic prompts. Here's one that's been bouncing around my head a while without going anywhere:
2018 Dan is freaking out about Not Being Out to the fans, while also panicking at the idea of Sharing Everything. So Phil comes up with the suggestion that he will continue claiming to be straight so that Dan can come out as gay but not out the relationship.

Summary
The bed they were sharing in the bus was just the result of a bargain, the cheapest rent bus they could find that would accommodate all the crew. It was by obligation that they got the bed, so as not to make anyone else uncomfortable, while everyone else slept not even two meters away from them, privacy depending on a single thin and clunky door that could be opened if someone pushed too hard, even when the lock was on. They slept together, but The Gap was there.
They were very mindful of The Gap.

Dan smiled softly in his sleep, his dimples slowly appearing onto his cheeks. Phil felt his throat tighten as he stared at him laying peacefully in their bed. He couldn't will himself to look away. A warm sensation bloomed in his chest. He was unable to contain the smile that spread across his face, as Dan giggled quietly in his sleep. It felt like his heart was going to burst from the fondness that he felt building up inside him. Slowly, he leaned in closer to Dan's face. How lucky he was that he got to wake up every morning to this. A quiet stillness engulfing the room, sunlight peaking through the curtains as his heart, his whole world, lay peacefully beside him, dozing off without a care in the world.
Phil wakes up early at the crack of dawn to see Dan sleeping peacefully beside him. Overwhelmed with emotion, he looks back on the life they've shared together and marvels at how much Dan has grown whilst admiring his sleeping figure.
