Witches are believed to be unnatural creatures, with evil characters, without the capability of empathy, mercy or love. They were the monsters that hid under the bed. The tales parents would tell their children to warn them away from the wood. The tales that were entirely untrue. Illyria Terra is a witch forced to join the company of Thorin Oaekenshield as the fulfilment of her life debt to the wizard Gandalf. She wants nothing more than to stay hidden away from the world, but there is a pesky prophecy that just won't let old demons lie.
The company will soon learn that there is more to a witch than they were led to believe. Despite coming to know her as more than her abilities, Thorin still thinks her to be petulant, undisciplined, stubborn and belligerent. She is so aggravating that he just can't keep her off his mind.
