Summary
In an undefined future, Izuku and Katsuki are pro hero partners enjoying a break after their shift together, watching the sunset and sharing a bag of sour gummy candy. They're both in love with each other. Neither will say it.
The myriad sounds of the various drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians below, rising and falling as they pass three stories beneath, like an orchestral symphony or a colony of honeybees surrounding their queen: this is the ambient soundtrack that Katsuki commits to memory for this half-hour slice of time. That, and the warm hum of Deku’s appreciation as he takes in the sunset lighting up the sky in front of them. The sun beams orange and pink and yellow as it splashes across his freckles, tinting his usually cool-toned hair a vibrant, fiery green. His legs dangle off the side of the building on which they’ve made their rooftop perch. He kicks his stupidly large shoes out and then back, soles gliding on air, like he just can’t wait to jump down to the street and get back to work. Katsuki can wait. Katsuki could wait years. He could pause time and sit here, in this sunset, for centuries, and never see the night again.

Izuku shoots straight up, his upper body perfectly perpendicular to the ground. It isn’t Danger Sense ringing the alarm, but something (surprise?) has his muscles tense and ready to run. “Are you inviting me over?”
“Depends. Are you going to be normal about this?”
After a shared shift, Katsuki asks Izuku over to his apartment to meet his cat, Miso. There, he cooks them dinner, Izuku and Miso bond, and many buried things finally come up to see the light.
