When NHL superstar Ilya Rozanov claims the treadmill beside him, Shane’s pride won't let him back down. A quiet session of stretching turns into a silent, high-speed war of endurance that ends on the rubber floor, gasping for air and sharing a water bottle.
It shouldn't feel intimate. But it does.

"Left rotator cuff. You’re protecting it."
Ilya turns slowly from the screen to look at Shane, eyes narrowing.
"On the screen," Shane says, nodding at the TV. "You dropped your shoulder before impact."
Ilya holds the stare. He steps in, collapsing the distance until he stands just inside Shane’s reach. The heat radiating from him carries the mineral scent of warm skin.
"Sharp eyes for waiter."

I started this story when Skam France was still airing, not knowing what it would become. It was the first thing I wrote that truly mattered—and it taught me more than I can say about writing, rhythm, and character. Coming back now is about doing it justice.
