And honestly? Annalise really can't bring herself to care.

Summary
Luca Haas can't believe this is his life. Not only has he achieved his childhood dream of being a professional hockey player, he's achieved his OTHER lifelong dream of playing on the same team as Ilya Rozanov. The Hollanov of it all is just icing on the cake. The only thing that could make his life better, according to his mother, is his one true love. Luca, on the other hand, would like to stop feeling like someone's going to shoot him in the head if he doesn't achieve literally anything of note while he's on the same team as the first husbands of hockey.
Last year, Theo Torres dragged the New Jersey Angels kicking and screaming to playoffs and everyone's looking to see if he can do it again. He's wonders the same thing as he dodges calls from his overbearing family. After a rocky first meeting with Luca Haas after stupidly admitting he had slept with Mr. Number Two's twin sister, he and Luca begin something that's going to end sooner or later so he'll enjoy himself while it lasts.
After circumstances neither of them care to recall, the two of them have to pretend to be in love while they barely even like each other. No really. It's just sex. Why are you looking at them like that?

Unfortunately for Luca, he didn’t think he was ever going to meet someone in Ottawa. He was the victim of having a very particular type that not many guys could live up to. He was desperately attracted to closeted, cocky, athletic fuckboys. Especially star athletes. He wanted a man that knew what he wanted, could chirp with the best, and could throw him around like a ragdoll. There was probably some pathology there about spending so much time in sports around toxic masculinity during puberty, but he did not want to analyze that any farther.
But as he hated to admit, Chloe was right. He deserved to not feel lonely, and with a little bit of effort, he could probably find someone to sleep with regularly. It might not be in Ottawa, but he was in 31 other cities throughout the season. A ton of guys in the league had regular hookups in various NHL markets. With the wine coursing through his system, Luca decided this was the perfect solution. He wasn’t ready to date seriously, but he could have some fun. It was time to build a roster.
