Tim just wanted to have a normal college life, make a few friends and hopefully pull himself together enough to have a good life. He had almost thought that was going to happen, until a student film project he joined all went wrong.
Tim and Brian live in a run down cabin deep in the woods, hours from most of society. They had finally come to terms with their situation, or well, as much as they could anyway. They had their routine, they were comfortable.
Then, the Operator threw another unexpected thing at them when a boy smelling of ash and smoke showed up at their, dazed and confused, clearly under the operators control. Toby changed the whole dynamic Tim and Brian had grown comfortable with, and now the three of them have to figure out how to live together. Almost 3 years later, this still proves challenging.

Yes, in reality, all of this seemed terrible to everyone, and incredibly nerdy, but no one counted on the game itself being strong enough to force others to behave well and that its magic intensified more every time you refused to do the indicated action.
And who suffered the most from this was Alastor, doing good things for Lucifer? ha!
