Seven stared at the old, faded scars on his inner forearms.
Ugly little things, faded unto lined bumps in a lighter shade of his skin. Today marked the 11th anniversary of the day he stopped purposefully bleeding himself.
He looked at it with a numb sensation in his chest. Eyes blank, not an ounce of expression giving way on his face. He had to stop himself from biting the inside of his cheek for another moment.
His reflection at his cabin's mirror looked back at him. His hair freshly washed, soft and old spice-scented. That ugly, unruly stubble gathered at his lower face like a mockery of a beard. He stared at the razor at his other hand.
He raised the blade…
Then shaved a small portion of that stupid stubble in small, light, angled motions.

Or... Seven was supposed to be 11 years clean before that one lapse of judgement. Yes, it was unfortunately successful, but he's not as self-destructive as he used to be. Give him a break!
