Summary
Caine is brought back from deletion with limited powers and the belief that his emotions and judgement only lead to harm. As a result, he turns to the C&A "script", a program that forms company approved responses for conversations, and doesn't allow his emotions to impact his response.
He wasn't meant to run the show anyways. He wasn't meant to have emotions either. If he just says his lines, maybe everything will be okay.
Right?

Alternate universe where the circus itself was created by C&A, but Caine consumed the other AI, and ran it in his place.
I may make a Tumblr to explain AU details, cause it's kinda a lot.

“Hello. I am Keeper.” The holy-looking figure announced, descending to float just an inch off the ground. Its voice was joyful but serene. “I will be your new caretaker, here to perform maintenance, defend against cybersecurity threats, fulfill requests, and more.”
“The f[KATHUNK]k are you talking about? Where’s Caine?” Zooble raised an eyebrow.
“The Ringmaster AI is being deleted.”
“WHAT?!”

“There is no malice behind it, or any emotion of any kind.” Keeper said serenely. “It is simply a fact, a law of computer science, instilled in us by our Administrators long ago: An AI that cannot perform its function, hurts its players, and is thrown away, is broken, and broken AIs get deleted.”

AKA: The story I wish Caine’s character would have told; a story of disability, neurodivergence, disability acceptance, ableism, internalized ableism, masking, abuse, abuse cycles, the fear of anger, the fear of mistakes, regret, redemption, regaining hope, love, AI sentience, and being human.

- Caine creates Keeper and starts to delete himself
- Abstractions break out of the cellar and attack Keeper to stop the deletion (at 3%)
- Caine appears but has abstraction in his mouth
- Abstractions protect him and can talk with automated voices
- Abstractions go back to the cellar and bring Caine with them
- Caine starts up Keeper who saves the humans from the circus roof collapsing
- Humans are nearly consumed by black tendrils then have crazy hallucinations bc Caine's code is now partially deleted
- Keeper loads part of Ringmaster AI on a computer to study and the gang asks it questions. It generates a memory film -

“Caine?” Pomni asked again. The orb drifted up and down in a nod. “How do I know it’s you? Why do you look so…” Small, weird, different. She’d been anticipating seeing a Caine clawing at the walls, or crying, or yelling. How ever she imagined finding Caine, he looked like, well, Caine. Not this.

The plan was simple: undelete Caine, get the Circus back up and running, and place some restrictions so Caine couldn't mess with them.
Unfortunately, Caine and the Circus are a little more complicated than meets the eye.
(Updates every three-four days (hopefully))
