It’s just a painting, he tells himself. A borderline erotic painting. Nothing about the composition suggests that except for the fact that it’s a painting of Seungmin—naked. These rose coloured glasses be damned. Why did he have to put so many layers of intimacy? Why did he have to shade his body in golden light and take so much care to paint the cream coloured bed sheets twisted between his legs? Why did he spend hours getting the shade of his knuckles right?
The lines between love for art and for Seungmin have been blurry since the day they met, but now Hyunjin wonders if that line ever existed at all.

It’s a routine they’ve fallen into—eyes light and surprised as he swipes a finger over the brown spine of a book and greets him with a polite bow. “Hyunjin-ssi,” he’ll say, careful to keep any suspicion out of his voice, “fancy seeing you here.” Hyunjin will bow back as polite as ever, a small smile on his face, hands folded over the hem of his long beige coat.

Like, you ever think about how the Moon is literally drifting away from Earth every year? Every year, man.” He widens his eyes. “At some point, it’s just gonna fuck off into the void.”
Seungmin hums thoughtfully, swirling his drink. “That’s terrifying.”
“Right? Like, what if one day we just look up and—bam! No more Moon. That’s some existential horror shit.”

Seungmin has plans: Finish university with a first class degree. Enrol in a Master's course. Worm his way into the music industry, one way or another. Knock Minho and Jisung's heads together until they realise they're in love or are so brain damaged it no longer matters. Keep all his friends in one place.
Figure out what to do about the fact he's been in love with his best friend/roommate for four years and isn't sure he'll ever stop.
