Summary
Jimmy and Scott are married, and have been for years. They're very happy with each other, though both have expressed that if either falls in love with someone else, they're willing to be flexible for each other.
Scott and Joel have a petty rivalry over seemingly nothing. Maybe it started when Joel set up an edgy studio beside the quaint, sweet flower shop. Maybe it started after a few glances mistaken as mean-mugging. Maybe one of them parked in the other's spot once. Whatever the case, they hate each other.
Joel and Jimmy share mutual friends, and actually used to hang out a bit back in the day. Jimmy, however, willingly distances himself from Joel and holds a distaste for him purely because he sides with Scott over all other people.
All of this is true. Known fact, even.
And then Scott starts to take a liking to Joel.

Summary
Scott Goldsmith had survived the pretentious posturing of the wealthy elites in the officer corps, the field of battle, and a particularly vicious realtor but he had finally scraped the funds and paperwork together to finalize his purchase of an old mining town by the name of Oakhurst. He had to accept a deal with his commanding officer to effectively babysit another troublemaker like himself for six months, but Apo Kuna was hardly the worst company he had ever been burdened with. Everything was looking up! Or it was, until the two arrived to find twelve other fresh arrivals in town--each stranger than the last. Now, as the owner of the land and a military officer charged with overseeing that land Scott was burdened with something truly awful... responsibility.

Five years have passed since the Goldsmith Wedding, and things are going alright for Scott. He has his husbands, he has his coven, and he's finally getting a hang of this whole "having emotions" thing. So of course, it's the perfect time for something to go very wrong.
When Scott, Avid and Abolish are separated by a distance not even their Bonds can cross, the three of them have to learn just how much they're willing to risk for each other, and themselves.

Summary
The crux of it is something small, the choice to leave and save himself or stay and offer protection to those too vulnerable to protect themselves. Scott knew that the choice would change him, no matter which he decided to do, that it meant everything for who he would become.
He chose to stay, and it meant everything and nothing. He chose to hold onto the pieces of him that remembered being human, being a protector.
He didn't know that it was more than just his future hanging in the balance.

Scott chooses to care back in the beginning, before he ever saw Oakhurst or met any of the people who would eventually be there. It makes all the difference but changes very little. At first.

He didn’t feel very smart as he lay on the cold concrete. He didn’t feel invulnerable as blood oozed out his head. His right eye had long ago been blinded by the congealing black substance. When he was badly injured and hungry he only had enough energy to keep his body from slowing down into a deep slumber. He was intimately familiar with being a corpse.
“Scott?” A weak voice asked.
He hummed making no move to fix his position.
“Don’t leave me.” Shelby said so quietly only his vampiric hearing could pick it up.

Summary
Despite a widespread belief to the contrary that he had taken years to cultivate, Scott was nowhere near as ditzy and airheaded as he appeared. When he followed Pyro and Owen into the woods at night without any weapons on him, he was doing so while being fully aware of his cicerones’ lack of humanity. It just so happened that he liked his odds with them better than with those peasants back in the village who’d accused him of murder after he’d lost sight of Shelby for a couple of hours.
That said, he would have preferred it if they hurried along their little fang-measuring contest, because with the sun still buried deep beyond the horizon, the air was incredibly chilly. It didn’t help that they were on a small island in the middle of a lake, so he was wet as well.
Where was Abolish when he needed a handsome butler to roughly wrap a jacket around his shoulders and complain that he’d lose his job if he died?

Scott looked up towards the Obelisk again, dread creeping up on his senses.
Abolish was standing beside the corrupted beacon. The blood red color lit the shadows of the Obelisk and more importantly his face. Abolish took his hand off the beacon.
"Oh." The butler paused, "Hi Scott."
There was red in his eyes, a deeper shade of crimson replaced the calm amber of his pupils.
"A-Abolish?"
The Count stuttered, taken aback by the sight of his butler and the red surrounding him.
"You shouldn't be out here alone." Abolish said, his voice was flat. He hopped down from the structure.
or An AU where Abolish is Scott's butler but Abolish is the vampire that's hundreds of years old and Scott is a runaway count who brought his trusty butler with him!
