He didn’t like these thoughts. Dogday hated showing weakness, but when he allowed himself to think so deeply like this, he really struggled. One bad scenario fell on top of another one, and soon enough, he was drowning in awful hypotheticals. Thankfully, amazingly, Catnap was always there to bring him back up to the surface.

Light was smart, that was already established, but situations like these were still new to him, even after years of being introduced to the Death God realm. It also didn’t help that L had just decided to put his perfectly sculpted collarbones on full display for him out of nowhere and it caught him off guard. But as he looked more in depth at it, he could barely see in the low lamp light of their bedroom two small, scarred puncture wounds in his pale skin right above the protruding bone. Light blinked, stared some more, and then it hit him like a damn truck.
