The last person Robin Buckley expects to be helping her out with a sprained wrist and a black eye is Steve Harrington. And then again when she takes a nasty fall. And then again- okay, she's becoming a frequent flyer. Neither one of them anticipates the blooming friendship, but Robin is delighted by the gossip she missed in their shared hometown. Steve enjoys the company of someone who isn't reminding him of his trauma, new or old.
Aka four times Steve and Robin encounter each other in a Chicago ER and one time they hang out somewhere else.

When it runs out, if I’m not back on the right side, I’ll get stuck as nothing, forever.” Robby drops his face into his hand. “Why does this sound like The Little Mermaid?” he moans.

Summary

He looks over at his newest hire, seated in the chair to his left, cheeks all puffed out around a mouthful of the best meatball hero in Boston, and arches his eyebrows expectantly.
"Something like that," Ed confirms, though it comes out muffled, half the consonants stripped away by ground beef and mozzarella and a sourdough roll so good it'll make you slap your mother.
