Summary
Every new year hundreds receive a death sentence in the form of a black skull mark on their arm. Some spend their last days seeking pleasure. Others fall into despair as if they were dead already. Some rumors claim, he keeps their hearts in jars. He delights in tormenting them, others whisper. He made a deal with the devil for their souls, others are convinced. Whatever the reason, one thing is known: Kaz Brekker only hires those who are already dying. Kaz lets the rumors go because they are useful and because they are all less horrific than what he actually is.

Based on this writing prompt:
There is a beautiful statue of a person in the middle of a large city, and the rumor surrounding the statue is that when they touch hands with their soulmate, they will become human. Naturally, it becomes a perfect photo and video opportunity to pose while holding its hand.
One cute selfie attempt results in an empty statue podium and you just barely catching a very confused person in your arms.
Bonus points if the current bf/gf is taking the pictureExcept make it Kazolai because it’s me, and you should expect nothing less at this point :)
