Fukuzawa looks at the sky, inky black, around the pale moon. No stars were in sight, as the yacht neared the docks. He takes another deep breath, and turns around.
Past the glass doors, he can see the back of Fitzgerald’s head. He’s sitting on the couch, being the loud host that he is. Beside him, a mess of black hair tied to the side. Fukuzawa can see the edges of a gloved hand on Fitzgerald’s suit.
Mori seems to feel his gaze right away, for his violet eyes meet him. He’s smiling. Makes a show of laughing, probably at some joke Fitzgerald cracked up. Makes a show of leaning over to whisper something, and they both crack up. Him and Fitzgerald. -
