Summary
The first singular person who came up the box, a month after the first forty boys were placed, was a girl. Back in those days, it didn't seem too abnormal, since they were just getting used to the patterns and rules of the maze.
And for a group of forty boys, having a girl on the mix would kick start some feelings - or so they thought, until everyone knew you were absolutely smitten for the keeper of the runners.
