Perhaps, millions of light years away, they had already collided into a triumphant supernova. Was the light he now basked in just an entire universe’s phantom? Was he this swirling galaxy? Since Rey cut their bond, Kylo’s facade remained in place. But like that galaxy, all that was left of Kylo’s soul was the memory of what had once been there. The spiraling emotions in his heart had collided long ago, at a fingertip brush.

“That's not how it went.” Maomao said, unwrapping her hands from their rightful place behind his neck.
“No, but isn't this better?” Trying to steer his mind away from the weird moment of clarity he seemed to be having, Jinshi ran his right index finger down the middle of her back.
She shuddered deliciously, but regained her composure and glared at him. It sent shivers down his spine.
“I don't usually have fantastical dreams.” She murmured, leaning away from him but not leaving his lap. “Much less lucid ones.”
“Well, probably because it's supposed to be my dream.” He grumbled, put out that his pleasant wet dream was going down the drain.
Due to a strange pair of incense burners, Jinshi and Maomao meet inside of shared dreams. It takes them a while to realize that.

Jinshi stood up slowly, carrying Maomao in such a familiar way it almost made his knees buckle again.
Like back then, when she saved his life from that assassination attempt and got hurt.
But she wasn't just unconscious this time. She wouldn't wake up and complain about being made to rest again. He wouldn't see her dance on the east wall again, in her flowing dress with a bloody leg. He wouldn't see her dance again at all… ever.
Or, the reunion between our favourite moon prince and his beloved apothecary in Season 2 Episode 46 was underwhelming, at least the scene itself. So I've taken it upon myself to make it a lot worse.
