He stood in front of the full-length mirror in Will’s childhood bedroom, adjusting the backward newsboy hard that definitely belonged to Will. The glasses (thin black round frames that made Will look like he was on the cover of a magazine) sat a little crooked on his nose. And the pants? Yeah. He’d stolen those too—Will’s favorite pair of dark track pants that hung just right on Mack’s hips, but a little tight on the ankles. The hoodie was his own, but everything else screamed “I’m pretending to be my boyfriend tonight.” Well.. At least to him.
(OR: Macklin gets black out drunk to the point where Will has to pick him after he promised Will he'd only have two drinks. Mack also ends up going through a hangover in Will's childhood house)

"She's so itty-bitty!" Will says, smiling wide as he brings her close to his face to take a closer look at her. Belle looks back at Will for a beat, then lets out a small "Yip!," eagerly pawing at Will's nose like she's trying to bring him closer to her. He giggles, patting her back and letting her mess with his face, squealing a few times when she licks him. Mack takes note of her little paws, skinny legs, and just how small she is compared to Will. Compared to Mack.
Mack is just…so big, hands rough and tough from handling hockey sticks and roughing other players. He's really, really scared that he's going to hurt them, and he doesn't want to hurt any of the little animals if he can avoid it. The texture of his callused fingers might be too scratchy on fresh puppy skin, and he doesn't want to find out what that might look like.

Will and Mack join the Toffolis and the Wennbergs as they meet some rescue puppies and kitties. Mack's afraid he's going to hurt them because of how small they are and how big he is. Cat and Toff tell him otherwise.
