“I know,” Ragatha said, sighing with resignation. She squinted her eyes shut, like she no longer wanted to be awake.
“But not like him.”
Ragatha can’t help how she feels. Neither can Pomni. You can’t give someone what you don’t have, even when they might deserve it more than the one that does.
