Summary
Jimmy is not one to show vulnerability. It's no surprise for Curly when he comes to him with a strange request: to promise that he'll close his eyes and stay still for just a few minutes. It's terrifying for all the wrong reasons. Not for what can be done to him, but for what comes after — the dread looming over Jimmy's head at all times finally crushing his body, taking him away from Curly forever. But despite his fear, Curly is a selfish man. Maybe that is their only shared quality.

Summary
”Finish that up, will you?” Jimmy bids. He’s out of uniform in a somewhat haggard looking bowling shirt, looking as out-of-place as Curly feels, but he’s making the same face he always is. Stern and sharp like jagged metal.
Jim’s an asshole, he knows, but he’s consistent. Curly likes consistency, he thinks?
”What for? Neither of us have anywhere to be for a month,” Curly huffs with a small smile.
“28 days,” Jimmy corrects with his standard level of flatness. “And It’s your birthday. Your actual birthday. Or did you forget?”

Summary
"I've wanted to do that since college," Curly admitted, feeling self-conscious as he stepped into his discarded khakis. He’d thought that sharing one of his most guarded secrets might relieve him of the years-old burden, but the confession just leaves a bad taste in his mouth now that he’s accepted the fact that Jimmy probably wouldn't want to do this again.
