Izuku didn’t want to work a boring 9 to 5 job in front of a desk everyday. That’s why Katsuki suggested he create a hero cafe! The idea was perfect, to provide a safe haven for any heroes looking for a break but provide a cool hangout, as well, for hero geeks and nerds. Totally his cup of tea! The only backfire was work was busy.

He complains goodnaturedly, but there's some rough weight beneath the words laid into his bondeds' minds.
Izuku mumbles indistinctly against Katsuki's lips, but Katsuki pushes Izuku's face back far enough to glare at him. "Plan? What plan? Why wasn't I a part of this?"
"Because," Izuku says, nipping Katsuki's lip, and thinking a very heavy eye roll in Eijirou's direction, "it was going to be a surprise."

The basement is cold and feels all the emptier in contrast to the memories Katsuki's sulking in. He's aware he's being ridiculous, that a single night's fuck-up isn't enough to lose him the warmth and bright love of his family and friends.
But he's also furious with himself, and more than that, disgusted. The image of Ei's wounded expression is burned into the backs of his eyelids, so he lays down on cushions that smell vaguely like dog and closes his eyes, concentrating on that pain. That betrayal. He did that. He hurt him. His partner, his lover, his best goddamn friend. He's sworn not to, and meant it. He's tied his life to Ei's, and to Izuku's besides. He's their motherfucking husband.
And he's Bakugo Katsuki.
He's //better// than this.
