Or, that, until last night, he had been convinced that his pleasure was locked up like medication in a child-proof container, to be dispensed at the exclusive whims of the only other person who had ever been able to access it. That maybe bad sex could feel good, that he liked being the agent of his own injury, but that it would never approximate the shameful, defiant pleasure of someone taking that choice away from him.

Summary
It’s ridiculous, how surprising it feels, but Dennis can’t help it. Dr. Robby belongs in the Pitt — he is the Pitt. To see him outside of the PTMC feels like seeing your school teacher in the grocery store as a pre-teen — unsettling, mildly world-shifting, and leaving you feeling slightly giddy.
When Dennis finds out his boss is a part of a less-than-typical subculture, he finds himself falling down the rabbit hole of kink, self-exploration, and how to find that balance between what you really want versus what you actually end up getting.

Summary
The summer before the events of Pittfest, Robby and Dennis meet in a coffee shop, and fall for each other hard and fast. Despite this, the both of them are trying to take it slow: Robby, afraid to mess it up, and Dennis, relatively new to relationships and Pittsburgh all together. Dennis's rotations go differently, and he's currently working in the NICU at PTMC when he attends Pittfest with some medical school friends.
Robby, of course, is there when Dennis is brought in seriously injured. Their slow pace in the honeymoon phase comes to a crashing halt as they must figure out what comes next.Bookmarked by mathree

No, no, she must mean something else. He missed part of the conversation. That’s it. He missed something. Didn’t hear a sentence. Because she can’t be telling him that Dennis is the one being brought in. No, no. That can’t be right. Because he’s fine. He’s enjoying the walk to work. The leaves, the leaves are turning and he likes the colors. Reminds him of home, that’s what he told him. So there has to be some mistake. It can’t be him. Robby just misheard. Because Dennis is fine, he’s on the way here now, and he’s fine.
