Summary
“I just want to know,” you held up one finger, shaking and furious, “was there ever one time where you picked up on what I was putting down? Even if you didn’t reciprocate, even if you ignored me, did you ever notice?”
Gerard inhaled sharply. “Yeah. Yeah, I did.”
Or, alternatively: an ex-friend walks back into your life, married and successful, while you’re beat down on your luck and jaded. Despite your bitter attitude, you figure he’s just trying to be nice, so you’ll humor him.
You learn that neither money nor fame has brought him peace—more surprisingly, his marriage hasn’t been a perfect bed either. And then, quickly, the casual reconnection spirals into something neither of you expected. Hurt, open, stupid and exposed, there’s no way forward other than to keep going until you unravel each other completely.

Summary
Staring down at the primitive Nokia 1200 in your shaking hand, fingers hovering over the chunky, dark buttons, your stomach gave the most rancid churn, as it began to dawn on you that this wasn’t some kind of sick joke — thus, you twisted your head around so you could look at the calendar on your wall. The numbers ‘2007’ had never felt like so much of an axe to your skull, and the entire building must have heard the way you fucking screamed.
Or, you’re sent back in time, to almost two decades ago, by an arrogant entity with a saviour complex, which gives you a new life as an up-and-coming rockstar in the late 2000’s alternative scene. Despite being given everything the average joe would desire, your only priority is to claw your way back to 2025, and get far away from the leering hands of stardom, drugs, leeching tabloids and crushing expectations of Bush’s America. But as more pressing matters take a hold, and you’re pushed into the orbit of a thirty year old Gerard Way, the artist who you looked up to the most, you’re forced to consider what would happen if you chose to stay instead — and what unintended consequences that might entail.

Or, to make a long story short, wacky time-travelling shenanigans, that don’t make sense, ensue, and you end up over a decade back in time, as a somewhat new, famous rock musician. Hijinks, humour and horror continue, as you attempt to find your way back to your correct time period without changing too much of the course of history, despite the fame, money and lifestyle tempting you to stay,
Oh, and Gerard Way, frontman of one of your favourite bands as a teenager, seems to have taken an interest in you.

As your brain scrambled to connect the dots, your head jerked to the left, your eyes locking onto the calendar your peripheral had picked up on earlier. Something told you it was important. You stepped toward it, ripped it off the wall, and flipped to the cover. '2002'
You wake up twenty years in the past, find yourself thrown into a version of your life you don’t remember living—fronting a band, navigating the early 2000s DIY scene, and surrounded by your idols that somehow know you as their friend. Even though this is everything you wanted in the present, your only goal is to jump right back into 2025 before you leave a mark that can't be erased. But as time has its way with you, and an awkward but charming Gerard Way finds himself always in your vicinity, you start to wonder what could be so bad about being here. But getting close to him means risking everything you know about the future—and the timeline you were never supposed to touch.

Summary
you are the one and only drummer of my chemical romance - and also gerard's estranged childhood friend. as the band gets closer, you have a series of realizations about yourself, your identity, your fellow bandmates, their identities, and how you all come together (and fall apart).
tl;dr: a several tens-of-thousands-of-words-long practice of self-indulgence. its my rpf and i choose how it addresses queerness and transgenderism. mostly trying to keep as close to the actual timeline of events of mcr as possible, except when deviating from reality makes things more thematically resonant.
