His story changes for the worst when he decides to punch destiny in the face and get his girl despite the world being in need of saving. But you can't hurt destiny without it fighting back. Without major retaliation that no one can come back from. Not even the most powerful of heroes.
Because of this, Jason Grace and Elora Hardy might just have to deal with the consequences of their selfish actions. After all, in most ways, the Curse of Capulet is linked to everything. Even hurt and Death.

Curses proclaim that maybe those prophecies are wrong. Or maybe half-true. Rome may still have its untimely demise but Perseus may also join the city in ruins.
It has been a long, long time since a story as great as this has reached the ears of the goddess of love. Her elation draws breathtaking ideas of tragedy to mind. She must enact them. She must watch it unfold. The beauty of it all. Oh, how absolutely delightful!
Percy Jackson and Roma Ronero have no idea what fate is about to offer them. What destiny will force them to take. It is nothing short of depressing and impossible. It is nothing short of pain and misery. Love. Typical.

Garp wanted Luffy and Ace to be Marines, so he taught them what a good marine should know and how to do it. While Ace and Luffy obviously didn't become marines, that knowledge was, literally, pounded into their heads. With Ace captured and set for execution, Luffy uses that knowledge to bust his brother out of prison.
Or: Why Garp shouldn't have taught an upcoming rookie what Marine codes meant because all it led to was the chaos a pirate could use it for.
