There had been a strange, restless pressure in his chest, one that simultaneously irritated and calmed him. He had become acutely aware of his own hands, empty in his lap, and of the absence of contact where there had been nearness just moments before.
That room must have been the issue. It was too full of Cain’s presence and, paradoxically, of the distance Cain has just created. Oz didn’t understand why this mattered at all. He only knew that when Cain finally straightened again, when the moment passed and the conversation drifted to something else, the feeling didn’t leave with it.

Summary
