Being turned into a woman wasn’t the worst thing that could have happened to Zoro. Beyond Nami adding 30,000 beri onto his debt for “polluting her gender,” he wasn’t all that affected by the change foisted upon him. There wasn’t much his old body could do that this new body couldn’t. He could still train, drink, and nap as a woman, so really he should have no problem settling in until they figured out how to fix it.
No, what really pissed Zoro off was the cook’s sudden inability to look him in the eye.

The seconds keep ticking as Yotha registers the words, his eyes looking clearer than before, as if the mist that had been veiling them has lifted. Without a word, he rises to his feet to settle by Gun’s side on his roommate’s bed, being mindful to leave some distance between them, like he isn’t sure if he is allowed to touch him.
“Why do you think I’d do it?”

The space between them crackled, the tension tight as a drawn wire. Midas exhaled a quiet chuckle, shaking his head as if he found Jones' boldness entertaining. Then, with a measured gesture, he pushed away from the bar and tipped his hat ever so slightly—an invitation.
Someone was trying to take his hat. And any cowboy or outlaw worth their money knew what that meant. A cowboy hat was never given away to someone for free.

The reaction is instant again, as it was earlier and Mike feels that same rush as Will moves quickly to clasp his hands behind his back. He hears Will mumble out a sorry, embarrassment evident in his tone and Mike decides to tease him, his distraction at nothing amusing for some reason.

Slowly, Will's outstretched hand cupped Mike's jaw. Henry made Will hold him lightly, hardly grazing the skin. He stretched one of Will's fingers out to trace his nail through Mike's face, and though Will had imagined holding Mike an endless amount of times, none of them had gone like this. He'd never wanted to hold Mike like this.
"Let him go," said Will, voice thick with emotion. "You can take what you want from me, you don't need him—"
"But you do," said Henry. "You need him."
When Henry starts to visit Will in his dreams, Mike starts getting inexplicable injuries. The stranger Mike acts— the more time he spends with Will, the more Will catches him staring, the more Mike dismisses the bruises and cuts scattered across his skin— the more Will starts to wonder whether Henry is right about him.
Maybe Henry did give Will a disease, back in the Upside Down. Maybe, as he dreams, Will passes that disease on to Mike, too.

Will’s smiling, now, looking reassured. And Mike’s saying it for El’s sake, but also Will’s. Max’s. Eddie’s, too. Everyone who’s been hurt by this monster, who won’t be able to sleep at night with even the slimmest chance that he might still be out there.
He has to do something. And until there’s a better plan, or more information to go off of, this is the only option.
He puts his hand out above the table. “Everyone in?”
Lucas, looking determined, slaps his palm on top of Mike’s. Then Will. Then, when there’s only one of them left, they turn to look at Dustin.
Dustin’s mouth twitches to the side. His torn Hellfire shirt ripples in the late-autumn breeze. “I want to see Vecna’s heart on a platter,” he says. His voice is low, almost scarily detached. Like he has nothing left to lose. “Just wish I could do it myself.”
