According to the fan wiki (and most likely other sources), Overwatch occurs in the mid 2070s. With this context in mind, I would like to introduce a small addition to the high amount of quality fan fiction written for the titular game. This started as a small brain exercise - which is a fancy way of saying I like to throw settings and series together. Let’s see what would happen if, in 1940s America, - just prior to the Cold War - America began making moves to prepare citizens for the unlikely eruption of a nuclear war. A small organization - you may have heard of it - called Vault-tech pioneered the latest in vault-related technologies. They were contracted to build a series of vaults, some that never saw use. Our story can begin with such an instance, of a young woman named Joelle and her husband being chosen as those lucky enough to have a vault to evacuate to in such a catastrophe. It’s time to write about everyone’s favorite soft boi - Bruno Mardigal.
There most likely would be some inaccuracies (in fanfic? *gasp*) if I were to write within the context of this story. With that in mind, I’ve set this tale to be just after the events of the movie have concluded. Amongst the accidental mistakes I will make regarding the universe, I will make some slight addendums to the ages of characters. There are some locations online that state Bruno as being around 50 – in order to make this a little less of an age gap, I’ve aged him and the triplets down to 40 (which still can work within this universe). Our main character will be 29, and I will write her within my own framework, utilizing she/her pronouns. But if anyone is interested, I would be willing to write the story differently without simply changing the pronouns around. Also of critical note, this story is a brain-baby made after reading another fanfiction, which I found via tumblr – yes people do still utilize it.
***Closing down this work until further notice, I suppose. It isn't as pressing of a story in my brain, and I want to devote more time and writing into other stories that are jostling around in here. Might revisit eventually? Maybe?

Summary
Slashers, bad guys, villains? Yes, I do ship those boats indeed. Don't expect rape/noncon or anything majorly gory. Here we have sails that are just safe enough for the passengers to still get a thrill and yet hopefully enjoy the simplicity of the content as well. For reader stories I like to focus on realism, character development and realistic drama. I believe every bad guy deserves a good story no matter how terrible or cruel they may seem. So if you're on board with me, let's give these goons a happy try, aye? See what we can accomplish on this wild journey.
